Singleton Council have launched the Visit Singleton app, a dynamic guide to the Singleton region with information for both locals and visitors, available on Apple and Android.
Singleton Council General Manager Lindy Hyam said the app is a great way for local and visitors to keep up to date on events in the area in addition to information on businesses, accommodation options, eateries and amenities.
“This app is in line with Council’s focus on innovation in technology and I congratulate the team at the SVIEC team on seeking out innovative channels to support our local economy and businesses,” she said.
“As smartphones and tablets take over as the preferred information source, research suggests that 86 per cent of mobile time is spent within Apps.”
“The Visit Singleton app is just one way that we are continuing to improve the services that we provide to our customers who walk through the doors in Townhead Park or visit us on our website.”
The SVIEC welcomes 30,000 visitors per year and this number has increased since the opening of the Hunter Expressway earlier this year.
Local businesses and accommodation providers are encouraged to join the SVIEC’s free membership program and benefit from a listing on both the app, and website and have the opportunity to display information within the centre.
