Seed Consulting welcomes HR leader to its team

Seed People Consulting has welcomed Shelley Johnson, a highly experienced HR leader, to their growing team.

As a Consultant, Shelley will join the Seed team in partnering with local businesses to build their culture, teams, leadership, and change capability.

For the past ten years, Shelley has led in-house HR teams in the not-for-profit sector, working with organisations such as Compassion Australia and Allambi Care.

She also co-hosts My Millennial Career, a podcast that helps people win at work. From HR, career planning through to leadership development, My Millennial Career explores all things work.

“When I think about my career, what I do for work is far less important than why I do it. So why HR? For me, it’s all about building high-performing teams. This is where the magic happens. It’s the organisational secret sauce,” Shelley said.

“Businesses that have high-performing teams and exceptional people practices achieve their goals and strategy. That’s my why.”

As a creative at heart, Shelley designs innovative solutions to complex organisational problems. She is looking forward to bringing her learning and development, culture change, HR transformation, and leadership coaching expertise to the Seed team.

“I’ve always been drawn to roles that focus on culture, leadership, and change. Over the years, I’ve seen how these three areas create a competitive advantage,” she said.

“Seed’s strategy is a convergence of these three areas. So naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to work with Seed People Consulting as a HR Consultant. Their values and culture mirror my own, so it felt like the perfect fit.”

Shelley joins the team at a pivotal time as the Seed team deepens its connections with clients in such an uncertain time for businesses across the Hunter.

Seed People Consulting’s Principal Consultant & Founder, Stacey Kelly spoke about her excitement in Shelley joining the Seed team.

“Our clients are valuing their investment in their teams, leadership and culture – now more than ever. Having Shelley join our team further strengthens our capability and capacity to partner with clients and provide them with quality specialist expertise in developing their people and their culture,” Stacey said.

“When we made the decision to find ourselves an extra teammate, we really wanted to ensure that we practiced what we preached – ensuring that we prioritised hiring for values alignment and our client-centric philosophy.

“Shelley nailed the brief on all aspects; her positivity and sense of fun, desire to take time to understand people and businesses and tailor solutions to their needs, as well as wanting to stay ahead of the game in her industry knowledge and experience.”

The Seed People Consulting Team look forward to the addition of Shelley’s magnificent balance of creativity and practical experience to continue their mission to partner with organisations to create dynamic, inspiring, and effective teams.
