Nexus Law Group continues to grow with the announcement that Rod Smith has joined the firm as a Consulting Principal.

Rod brings diverse experience to Nexus, having worked with clients from a range of industries, including government and large FMCG companies. Rod’s expertise covers a number of specialist areas, including commercial, corporate, intellectual property, media and entertainment law. His career path includes working at Sparke Helmore, as in-house counsel at Lion Nathan, the Crown Solicitor’s Office, and running his own boutique practice.

As well as a successful legal career to date, Rod has also enjoyed recognition for his contribution to the arts. His artworks have been publically exhibited and he has released two well-received musical albums. From a community perspective, Rod sits on the boards of the Newcastle Historic Reserve Trust, the Newcastle Art Gallery Foundation and WEA Hunter.  His work as the Chairperson of Renew Newcastle, a local organisation dedicated to Newcastle’s city revitalisation was recognised by a City of Newcastle Service Award in 2009.

Looking to maintain the balance between the different aspects of his life and his interests, Rod has joined the team at Nexus Law Group.
