Purser on the move

The Purser Corporate Communication team say that being a recent custodian of one of Newcastle’s most iconic buildings has been an honour for the team at Purser Corporate Communication. But, after almost 11 years the public relations consultancy will be moving from the old BHP Administration Building to King Street Newcastle.

Created by Bob Purser in 1984 the consultancy moved from the Newcastle CBD to the Mayfield East building when the Hunter Business Chamber and a number of its suppliers and members moved in September 2005. At the time the consultancy was just the ‘father and daughter team’ of Bob and Meg. Soon after the move, the team expanded to three and today includes a team of seven experienced public relations professional, journalists and administration staff plus a number of specialist contractors.

“It is an amazing building that, during use by BHP, represented a very different era in the Hunter’s business, employment and industry sector. In the past decade it had another important role as the home of a number of small businesses that used the space to grow and prosper,” Managing Director, Meg Purser, said.

Purser Corporate Communication moved into 119 King Street in early June 2016 and from there it continues to provide specialist communication and public affairs services to a number of small and large public and private sector organisations in the community, health, education, professional services and broader business sectors.
