Director of Prosperity Advisers, John Manuel has been listed among Australia’s top 50 financial advisers for the second year by Barron’s, a prestigious US based financial publication.
John was ranked in 45th position in the top 50. With 31 new entrants in the tables, only 19 advisers held their rankings for a second year.
Director Financial Services at Prosperity Advisers, Gavin Fernando said the team is proud to have John chosen again.
“This list celebrates the leaders in the financial advice sector and we are very proud to have one of our advisers listed among a pool of very high calibre personal financial experts,” Gavin said.
“John is one of the best of the best and this recognition builds on the feedback we regularly receive from his clients about the positive experience of working with him.”
In speaking about the recognition, John commented on the dynamic nature of his clients.
“They are attracted to us due to our willingness to understand their financial needs intimately and to deliver tailored, strategic and ongoing advice,” John said.
The Top Financial Advisers list is designed to provide the market with a selection of quality advisers and to establish a benchmark for a high standard of client care that all advisers can emulate.
“Primarily, the Top 50 Financial Advisers list is designed for you, the reader, to help you find a financial adviser who best suits your needs,” organisers at Barron’s said.
“The financial advice sector is under intense scrutiny thanks to the royal commission. But the upshot is that the best operators will be more sought after than ever.”
The survey comprises over 70 questions through which Barron’s then applies its ranking formula to generate the rankings.
There are three key categories of data: assets under management, revenue and quality of practice. Key variables in the survey include fees, qualifications, length of time in the industry, regulatory track history, and charitable and philanthropic work.
“At Prosperity, we firmly believe that reaching your financial goals may not always mean making more money, but rather making smart decisions with what you have,” said Gavin.
Newcastle based Prosperity Advisers employs over 150 staff throughout its Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane offices and has over $700 million in funds under management.
