New Hunter-based creative agency, Squib Communications has launched, offering a suite of content marketing services to local and Australian businesses.
Squib harnesses the writing and strategic skillset of two local communications specialists, Alyssa Gill and Hannah Mills, to offer a complete specialist service of digital and print copywriting, social media strategy and creative marketing. The business has already left a mark on some of the Hunter region’s well-known, growing brands, such as Peaberrys Coffee Roasters and McElwaine Estate Agents.
Wordsmith and creative content guru, Alyssa is at the helm of the business, bringing many years of experience working with local and international businesses on their communications, copywriting, social media, marketing and brand presence.
Also known locally for her work as a Director for Hunter Young Professionals, Alyssa said that the creation of Squib Communications was a long-time coming after she recognised that businesses were losing their human touch.
“Squib is a modern agency built on the belief that in a time of fast technology and consumer choice, businesses today will thrive by bringing the human and personal element into the way they walk and talk,” Alyssa said.
“Content is king when it comes to getting your brand to the right audience and taking a strategically personal approach to this is key to building brand engagement and loyalty over the long-term.
“Too often I see businesses, both big and small, either focusing largely on themselves in their communication or coming across as robots, rather than the people we seek more and more as result of our digitalised world. For Harry Potter fans out there, Alyssa said the business name didn’t come from a book.
“I’m often asked about the business name. Honestly, it was a nickname that my dad gave me and it kind of stuck. The word means firework or a satirical piece of writing, so it seemed appropriate to the language we use in Australia and our copy is designed to create a big bang for our client’s brand awareness, so it’s perfect,” Alyssa said.
The growing team’s versatility has allowed Squib to provide comprehensive content and marketing solutions for businesses, big and small, across a range of industries, including real estate, music, cafes, hypnotists and life coaches, charities, medical services and more.
