Newcastle Airport appoints Acting CEO

The Board of Newcastle Airport Pty Limited has announced the appointment of Cam Macphee as Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Cam Macphee will replace Paul Hughes and commence work tomorrow, Monday 23 March 2015.

Newcastle Airport’s Chairman, Peter Gesling, said the Board felt it was important to appoint an interim CEO while an extensive search to recruit a permanent CEO is ongoing. Cam McPhee is not a candidate for the permanent CEO position.

“The appointment of Cam as Acting CEO will ensure Newcastle Airport has immediate access to a leader with significant aviation knowledge and expertise; he will provide continuity through to the appointment of a permanent CEO,” Peter said.

“Cam is highly regarded within the aviation industry and is a respected business leader. The Board and I are looking forward to working with him.”

Cam is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
