Last week the Newcastle & Hunter Junior Chamber (NHJC) announced a brand overhaul, including renaming the organisation to the Hunter Young Professionals (HYP).
At a members-only event at local eatery Case de Loco on Thursday 22 August, President Adel Issa explained that after reviewing the purpose of the organisation and the needs of the local business community the HYP Board unanimously voted for the name and brand change.
“The name change symbolises the growth and expansion of the NHJC over the last several years. With a strong membership growth year upon year it had become evident that the NJHC was an organisation that a wider audience wanted to be a part of moving forward,” Adel said.
“The board has laid the foundation for ‘a new generation’ and as a group it was decided to capitalise upon this growth by rebranding ‘who we are’.”
“With a new name, comes a new identity – an identity that represents who we are, encompasses our diverse membership backgrounds and signifies a new chapter of passion within the organisation.”
The new name of Hunter Young Professionals was chosen as an all-encompassing name to include people from the wider Hunter region, define that they are a young demographic in the market and to illustrate that inclusion of all professions is welcome.
The organisational branding has been updated but still ensures a legacy of the past by retaining the shield element that was introduced in 2006.
“The circular logo highlights inclusion of members from all areas with the colouring symbolising a harmonious environment and the triangles in the background provide reference to our networking with our organisation and the wider community.
The core purpose of Hunter Young Professionals (HYP) is to provide opportunities for young people to network in a business environment, gain new management and leadership skills, interact socially together and support the local community so that they can develop as the business leaders of tomorrow.
The website and brand redesign was handled by local agency Mezzanine Media a strategic creative branding studio who pride themselves on their ability to build clear and engaging brand stories.
Hunter Young Professionals (hyp) is a not-for-profit organisation that engages young people in the local business environment through professional development and social networking opportunities. Ultimately hyp creates opportunities for young people to connect, be inspired and develop themselves beyond their education.
