busiEarlier this year the creative minds behind Neon Zoo launched a new business, We Love Startups.
Driven by the passionate duo Abby McCarthy and Clare Gleeson, the new business was in response to the needs of the marketplace.
“We had noticed that there was a significant trend with new enquires with regard to logo development and design,” Abby said.
“It highlighted to us the growing number of people that were making the transition from a hobby to a business, ‘tradies’ and sole traders who wanted to improve their marketing and freelancers and businesses that have just never had a professional logo designed.”
Responding the gap in the market, the Abby and Clare developed their ‘sister’ business, We Love Startups, which offers a specialised service providing businesses with a range of packages to choose from to kick start their brand identity.
“This new venture is designed specifically for new and start up businesses at a cost that won’t damage the budget,” Abby continued.
“The packages are ‘built lean’ and work towards a quick turnaround so that clients can get ‘up and running’ as quickly as possible. ”
According to the Startup Muster Survey 2014, NSW takes the lead for the most startups at an incredible 48 per cent, so the crew at Neon Zoo felt that the Hunter and the greater NSW region was the perfect catchment to start We Love Startups.
“As a branding based studio, we know what value a great brand can bring to a business, but the businesses who are in their infancy really need to be focussed on testing and refining their product and services. Our packages give a new business the essential logo files they need to get up and running,” Clare said.
As a new business itself, We Love Startups is taking an innovative approach to the design process, with a key focus being on the delivering of a streamlined service yet with the same high level of design experience that people have come to expect from Neon Zoo.
From personal experience gained in the creation of Neon Zoo in 2007, Abby and Clare are all too familiar with the nerves, insecurity and isolation that can come about when you decide to take the plunge into running your own business.
“Start-up businesses can be quite daunting and it is often a solo process. Our blog is filled with lots of helpful articles for new businesses, free downloads and a Q & A series with other businesses that have made it through the integral start-up phase. In time we’re hoping to really build a community where people can share their stories and any helpful information that will inspire others,” Clare continued.
