Leading Australian businesswoman to inspire local women to grow

Leading Australian businesswoman, Jacinta McDonell is coming to the Hunter next month to speak at a seminar designed to help local women to grow in their personal and professional lives.

The annual, women only, Hunter Growth Seminar, is on for a fourth year at Crowne Plaza Newcastle on September 5. The seminar is the brainchild of well-known Hunter Mentor, Author, Speaker and CEO of Passionate People Institute, Shivani Gupta, in partnership with a number of other Hunter business women.

Shivani said Jacinta headlines a number of other local women and business people who have an inspirational story to tell or have tips to help women to realise their dreams.

“The Growth Seminar aims to fill a need for a very affordable, one day seminar that covers all areas of life for women from the mind, body, soul and careers to family life and money,” Shivani said.

“We give women an opportunity to network and open their minds to passion and opportunity in an uplifting and fun day.”

Jacinta launched the US franchise Anytime Fitness with her brother Justin into Australia in 2008. It is now Australia’s number one health club chain and she and her brother own 20 of the 270 Australian franchises.

The mother of three young children also established Urban Yoga, a world-first yoga concept in 2015.

An advocate of using business for good, she has established The Human Kind Project. The for-purpose foundation enables businesses to build brand equity whilst creating social change. The project funds and supports organisations that deliver change in the world. She established the project after personally raising more than $100,000 in 2014 for The Hunger Project Australia and subsequently travelling to the African country of Malawi.

Jacinta will be joined by leading local businesswoman Lisa Margan, who, with husband Andrew, is at the helm of a flourishing 35,000 case premium wine brand as well as Margan Restaurant.

Shivani will facilitate the event and run sessions on finding and maintaining passion. She is one of only seven people worldwide to complete global master training with Janet Bray Attwood, Founder of the Passion Test program and New York Times best-selling Author of the book by the same name.
