IT man helps charitable foundation

Bruce White has been appointed to the Board of Greater Charitable Foundation.

Bruce is the Chief Information Officer at the Greater Building Society. He replaces the Greater’s Head of Customer Relations Lisa Presbury as the Greater Building Society executive member on the Board.

The Foundation was established in 2011 and is funded through the profits of the Greater Building Society. It has an independent board of six directors chaired by John Kilpatrick OAM. The Board also includes two staff elected representatives.

Almost $3 million has already been allocated by the Foundation to nine charity partners across NSW and the Gold Coast. The Board is finalising a $1 million allocation for 2014.

Hunter organisations supported by the Foundation include Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI), Cerebral Palsy Alliance mentoring programs and Hunter Institute of Mental Health. The Foundation also funds regular visits by Captain Starlight to John Hunter and Maitland hospitals in the Hunter as well as other hospitals in regional NSW and the Gold Coast.

Bruce has more than 20 years experience in finance and manufacturing. He holds a Master of Business Administration. He is a former Director of Australian Settlements Limited and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Greater Bank

The customer-owned Greater Bank is Newcastle and the Hunter's only local bank.

It offers a greater kind of banking experience whether you're buying a home, saving, investing, paying the bills, insuring your possessions, travelling or planning for retirement - online, on the phone, at a local branch or through its national ATM network.

Greater Bank is experienced, safe and strong like the big banks.  The difference is it doesn't have shareholders so it's always focussed on customers and community.

Greater Bank's friendly, expert team has made it a winner of the national Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards three years running, with ratings as high as 97%.
