Internationally renowned chocolate chefs hit the Hunter

World-renowned pastry chef, Adriano Zumbo, will join a host of industry leaders as they converge at the Hunter Valley Gardens for the 2013 Chocolate Festival.

Adriano is no ordinary patissier, his creations are unique in concept and execution and elicit admiration from all people – the public and critics alike. He became an Australian household name after appearing on the hit reality cooking show, MasterChef.

Dean Gibson, who also starred as a guest judge on MasterChef, will team up with Adriano when they host a live demonstration on Saturday at 11:30am.

Dean is a Hunter TAFE teacher, pastry chef and chocolatier and during the demonstration he will create a chocolate sculpture, while Adriano creates an Entremet (modern French cake) to sit on the sculpture.

The 2013 Chocolate Festival is a collaboration between Hunter Valley Gardens, Hunter TAFE, Southern Cross Bakery Group and Callebaut, and is the biggest chocolate festival in Australia.

The festival will also feature celebrity chef, Ed “Fast Ed” Halmagyi from Better Homes and Gardens and internationally awarded chef, Kirsten Tibbles from Savour Chocolate and Patisserie School.

An open-air bakery will produce 3,500 chocolate croissants for guests, which Dean acknowledges as the best croissants outside France.
