HunterNet announces new Project Director

HunterNet Co-operative recently welcomed a new Project Director to the team – Renae Gifford.

Renae has worked in the Hunter region for over 20 years and has been involved in both large and small local infrastructure and industrial projects. Renae has an extensive background in environmental planning and science and has a Masters in Professional Economics from the University of Newcastle.

CEO of HunterNet, Tony Cade, said Renae’s dealings with HunterNet members and proven track record in project management made her perfect for the role.

“Renae will be supporting the HunterNet membership base and, in particular, the infrastructure and asset management, advanced manufacturing (including HunterNet’s interface with CSIRO), WHS and training, and systems processes and methods (SPAM) forums,” Tony said.

Within her role, Renae will also assume responsibility for the HMRI MoU and will continue to match member capabilities with research requirements.

“Renae will have a focus in her 90 day plan to conduct outreach activities with members to better understand capabilities and capacities,” Tony said.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Renae to the HunterNet family.”

HunterNet is widely recognised within Australia manufacturing and academia as a successful industry cluster, involving more than 200 companies active in national and international infrastructure and asset management, energy and resources, defence and advanced manufacturing supply chains.
