Hunter TAFE seek to recognise Alumni

Applications are now open for the 2016 Hunter TAFE Alumni Awards, which will recognise three alumni across the categories of Contribution to Business, Contribution to Community and Emerging Talent.

The Awards seek to highlight the important contribution of TAFE Alumni to the local, national, and international business community.

Hunter TAFE CEO/Institute Director, Christine Warrington, said the awards are an important way of recognising the achievements and contribution of Hunter TAFE graduates to their industry and the community.

“We are immensely proud of all of our Alumni, many of whom have gone on to make a significant difference to the region, the country, and even the world,” Christine said.

“It is also important for us and the community to recognise the value of quality TAFE education and training to industry and business, and the awards enable us to do so.”

“Vocational education and training plays an important role in the Hunter economy, providing the skills local organisations need to successfully compete and Hunter TAFE’s annual Alumni Awards seek to recognise graduates leading the way.”

In 2015, the achievements of three outstanding alumni from the Hunter and Central Coast regions were recognised. CEO of Maroba Viv Allanson received the Contribution to Business award, former Newcastle Herald General Manager Julie Ainsworth received the Contribution to Community award, and Alison Cook from Central Coast Group Training received the Emerging Talent award.

Established in 2012, the Association connects alumni with a network of people and a range of programs designed to support graduates throughout their career journey.

Hunter based NSF Super is the major sponsor for the Alumni Awards.

The awards are open to all Hunter TAFE graduates registered with the Alumni Association. Alumni can register via the Hunter TAFE website.

Nominations close Friday 11 March 2016.
