Hunter CEO appointed to national Council

The CEO of the region’s largest health and fitness facility has been appointed to the Business Industry Council of Fitness Australia.

NUsport CEO, Chris Hicks, has been appointed to the Business Industry Council, which is made-up of up to 12 representatives from across the nation’s leading sports and fitness sector. The Council sits under the auspices of Fitness Australia, which is the national health and fitness industry association working for a fitter, healthier Australia.

The primary purpose of the Council is to represent the needs and interests of fitness businesses and professionals across a broad range of models and settings. Council Members will also actively liaise with their industry peers to understand the issues facing the contemporary industry and advise the board and management on trends and opportunities that affect the industry, in both the business and professional domains.

Chris has worked at NUsport since 1998. His background in finance and accounting saw him take over the CEO reins in 2010. Since that time he has managed a team of more than 180 staff to develop new and innovative ways for people to engage with sport, health and fitness.
