How SMEs are using social media

Author of the Sensis Business Index, Sensis e-Business Report & Yellow Social Media Report Christena Singh will be speaking at a free seminar in Newcastle on Wednesday, 10 July 2013.

Each quarter Sensis release a business index surveying 1,800 metropolitan and regional SMEs to track SME confidence and behaviour.

They cover a wide range of industries including manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, hospitality, construction, communication, property, business services, health and community services.

As part of their research they also annually release the Sensis eBusiness Report, which looks at how SMEs use technology and electronic commerce activity.

The range of topics cover include email usage and marketing, website hosting and development, online advertising, business automation and electronic Customer Relationship Management.

The most recently released report found that 35 per cent of SMEs have a social media presence with 82 per cent of social accounts run by the owner or the manager of the business.

Christena will provide insights into the recently released Yellow Social Media Report as well as provide information as to how SMEs can identify opportunities in the digital space. She will be joined by Sensis Product Manager Social Media, Kate Hughes
