Hall & Wilcox boosts planning and environment expertise with new appointment

Hall & Wilcox has boosted its national planning and environment sector and expanded its Newcastle commercial practice with the appointment of Partner, Brendan Tobin and his team.

Brendan specialises in planning and environmental law, with a particular focus on the mining, energy, and resources sector.

He has acted for a range of clients, advising on matters ranging from approvals for greenfield sites, climate change litigation, mining projects, environmental matters, native title issues and water licensing.

He works on a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters.

Hall & Wilcox Managing Partner, Tony Macvean said Brendan will add further strength to the firm’s national planning and environment team and offer vital support to clients in the mining and resources sector.

“We are excited about our continued growth and ability to service our national clients,” Tony said.

“We are increasingly a destination firm that challenges itself to grow and improve and deliver on our purpose of enabling our clients, our people and our communities to thrive.

“Brendan will also add further depth to our national commercial offering in Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane.”

Brendan said he is thrilled to join the team at Hall & Wilcox and to help the team expand further into the planning and environmental sector.

“I am delighted to join a firm of the calibre of Hall & Wilcox. The key attractions for me were the firm’s national presence and a desire to grow their commercial offering in key markets,” he said.

“I was also impressed with their drive for Smarter Law and the inclusive culture the firm provides.”

Brendan will be joined at Hall & Wilcox by Senior Associate, Alison Thorp and Lawyer, Gus Haseler.
