Community organisations with a project or program that will contribute to the future of Singleton are being invited to apply for grants of more than $10,000 in round two of the innovative Singleton Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF).
Established by Singleton Council in partnership with The Bloomfield Group and Glencore, the intent of the Fund is to assist in proactively managing the impacts of mining by using policy funds to increase economic growth and productivity and promote health and wellbeing for the communities of the Singleton LGA.
Eligible projects, activities and events would increase economic growth and productivity, foster innovation, support and grow jobs, increase business profitability, improve living standards, reduce social issues, and promote health and wellbeing for the communities of the Singleton LGA.
Funding Proposals are now open for eligible projects that meet the objectives of the Fund until 31 October 2022.
Council’s Director Corporate and Organisation Capacity, Vicki Brereton said the CEDF was a unique approach to helping the community support each other now and into the future.
“We saw some brilliant projects and programs get off the ground because of this funding in Round One, and I have no doubt we’ll receive the same calibre of Funding Proposals in round two,” Vicki said.
“We’re looking for eligible programs or projects with a minimum value of $10,000.
“To make sure all Funding Proposals meet the funding criteria, prospective applicants must also attend one of the four information sessions – either in person or virtually – in addition to submitting their application form.
“This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the application process, talk to CEDF board members about what we’re looking for in your application, and hear from the successful applicants under round one.”
Glencore General Manager, Ashley McLeod said the Fund was a unique resource for people in the community to take an active role in driving positive outcomes for everyone.
“This is a significant opportunity for community organisations to resource programs and projects to benefit the people of Singleton now and into the future,” Ashley said.
“Glencore is very happy to be involved as part of our ongoing support for the Singleton community.”
The Bloomfield Group Chief Development Officer, Geoff Moore said the Fund was a wonderful opportunity to support the future of Singleton.
“Bloomfield is proud to support Singleton and we’re already seeing the Fund deliver tangible benefits across a large variety of projects under Round One,” Geoff said.
“Round Two provides more opportunities for both short and long-term projects that can address needs of today and support our community into the future.”
Successful applicants will be notified in February 2023 following a Council resolution at the February ordinary meeting.
