Female banking executive returns home to the Greater

Newcastle born Emma Brokate has been appointed to the executive team at Greater Bank.

Emma takes up the new role of group executive credit and operations. She is responsible for lending services, property, procurement and legal services.

CEO Scott Morgan said Emma was an operations expert with more than 20 years’ experience in banking. She has worked in Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne and also spent two years in London working for a Japanese investment bank.

“Emma’s demonstrated experience in project management as well as service and process improvement will be a great asset to the team as we continue to transform Greater Bank to meet our customers changing needs,” Scott said.

Emma said she was excited to be working for the customer-owned Greater Bank.

She said she is a proud Novocastrian who will relish the opportunity to again work in and make a difference to her community.

“I like to get things done and am looking to help deliver even simpler banking and an even better experience for our customers,” Emma said.

She grew up in Dudley and the Hunter Valley and went to All Saints Maitland.

The customer owned Greater Bank is Newcastle and the Hunter’s only locally based bank. It provides a range of banking services to more than a quarter of million customers in NSW and south-east Queensland.

Greater Bank

The customer-owned Greater Bank is Newcastle and the Hunter's only local bank.

It offers a greater kind of banking experience whether you're buying a home, saving, investing, paying the bills, insuring your possessions, travelling or planning for retirement - online, on the phone, at a local branch or through its national ATM network.

Greater Bank is experienced, safe and strong like the big banks.  The difference is it doesn't have shareholders so it's always focussed on customers and community.

Greater Bank's friendly, expert team has made it a winner of the national Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards three years running, with ratings as high as 97%.
