Just before the end of the last financial year, accountant Scott Sharp made the leap and established his own boutique accounting business, CNS Accounting.

After 15 years in the industry and holding senior client manager positions at other Newcastle accounting firms Scott felt the time was right to start his own business.

“At CNS Accounting we pride ourselves on the personal relationships we have with our clients,” Scott said. “We are small business owners ourselves and we are passionate about helping other businesses achieve their financial goals.”

Scott was born and raised in the Newcastle region and has a young family. He has family ties to the building industry and says he is keen to further develop the service offering of CNS Accounting to tradespeople and construction businesses.

“Construction contractors, in particular, are subjected to a lot of compliance. WHS, licencing, Home Owners Warranty, the list goes on. This is on top of the normal tax and Workcover obligations that apply to all businesses. We aim to alleviate some of this compliance burden to allow the business owners to spend more time doing what they are good at.”

Based in Bennetts Green, the firm services the wider Hunter region.
