Eight Recruitment was created in 2011 with the purpose to turn the sector on its head.
For its Founder, Nadene Barretto, it was a simple mission to create a trusted local business with a transparent fee model based around an 8% guarantee on all exclusive roles.
At the time, Nadene and her husband Steve were raising three small children and Nadene knew that after moving back to her beloved hometown of Newcastle that recruitment needed something new.
Now in 2017, Eight Recruitment has expanded to a team of four, including Nadene’s husband Steve Barretto, and specialises in jobs for organisations and people in the Hunter.
“Recruitment, is all about timing, and the stars truly aligned for us over the past six months,” Nadene said.
“We started a journey with Luke Kellett and the creative team at Headjam. We went on such an amazing journey that helped us understand what Eight Recruitment was, where we are going, why we do what we do and, importantly, our place in the Newcastle market.
“Anyone who knows us knows that we are a bit out there, loud and a little nutty, and we wanted our brand to reflect that.”
On 30 November, Eight Recruitment celebrated the result with around 60 people who included clients and business leaders.
“So what of our new brand? It’s different, it’s a little bold and it’s very Novocastrian…and that’s who we are! More importantly however, it’s about the professional relationships we have with our community and our fantastic clients,” Nadene said.
“Eight Recruitment is also proudly Novocastrian – we know this city, the people and the skills that we need to make it grow.
“We pride ourselves on being a little bit bold about the way we engage and select people to join teams – because our role is not about filling a job, its’ about finding the right person for the job and maintaining our commitment to ensuring it adds value to your team and business.
“Everyone loves knowing upfront how much something is going to cost, and charging at around 50% of the industry standard is not bad either.”
Eight Recruitment is located in Hamilton.
