Dungog, encouraging local shoppers

Dungog, encouraging local shoppers

As part of a localised campaign, the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce is encouraging residents to shop nearby with their 'Dungog Buy Local' promotion.

Launched in July and running until the end of September, shoppers have the chance to win up to $4,000 worth of 'Dungog Dollars'.

Chamber president Jennifer Lewis said the competition is rewarding shoppers for supporting local businesses.

“It's about encouraging people to think about spending their money locally and showcasing some of the great businesses we have in the district,” Jennifer said.

“Entering is simple, all shoppers need to do is collect $50 worth of receipts from participating businesses. They put the receipts into an official entry envelope, complete their details on the front and place their envelope in the entry box at participating businesses.”

The competition has already been embraced by the community, with the first 5,000 envelopes distributed used within the first two weeks of the promotion.

Posters are displayed in participating stores and there are no restrictions in relation to the number of entries submitted.

Dungog District Chamber of Commerce supports their members, representing their business interests at the local and state level. They offer help and assistance when needed, promote their members' knowledge and experience and create networking opportunities.
