Diamond IT brings Microsoft to the Hunter to educate business leaders

Hunter businesses will gather in Newcastle in November to hear from leading experts on the value of Business Intelligence (BI) and how all organisations can leverage data, artificial intelligence and advance analytics to improve their bottom line.

The Hunter-based information technology (IT) firm, Diamond IT, in partnership with Microsoft, have organised this regional networking and technology information breakfast forum at Marina Views, Newcastle on 7 November.

Diamond IT Managing Director, Robert Buck, said with BI technologies, businesses have more access to information that can help businesses better understand their customers and their needs.

“BI can help you better understand your customers and make better business decisions. Historically expensive, modern technologies are now making BI more accessible to a wider variety of organisations, as well as expanding the set of data sources traditionally available,” Robert said.

“It’s all about using technology to ensure you have the right information at hand, to make the right decision at the right time,” he said.

In attendance will be keynote speaker, Dean Corcoran, from Microsoft Australia who will be addressing the future of digital transformation, providing examples of how local businesses can affordably leverage this technology.

“In my experience when talking with organisations, business owners and staff, they often struggle to locate, merge and query key information needed to make important business decisions,” Dean said.

He commented that Cognitive Technologies, such as artificial intelligence, are changing how businesses operate, blending machine learning into their BI data transformation process.

Organisations should be looking to gather data from more than just the traditional sources they have become accustomed to, according to Dean.

Dean added that while business information can be tracked, it is often stored across different systems, including paper-based systems, which can increase the chance of error.

“Having data sources aligned and easily accessible through a BI solution, will make reporting faster and more accurate for employees when making important business decisions,” he said.

The event is to be hosted at Marina Views in Newcastle on 7 November, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am, with a range of networking and keynote speakers coming along.

Speakers at the event will include;

  • Dean Corcoran, Technical Strategist, Microsoft Australia,
  • David Williams, IT Manager, BMT Tax Depreciation,
  • Robert Buck, Managing Director, Diamond IT and
  • Geoff Moten, Software Development Manager, Diamond IT

“This event provides a regional networking opportunity, where business leaders and ICT heads responsible for setting strategy, can hear about and discuss the latest technology and trends, to support the success of their organisations,” Dean said.

Tickets for the event are limited, but still currently available on Diamond IT’s website.
