Communicators recognised

Two local businesswomen and current Hunter TAFE students were recently recognised for their high standard of work and achievements as part of their Diploma of Marketing.

Each year Hunter TAFE and the Professional Communicators Network (PCN) partner to acknowledge the achievements of students studying marketing at Hunter TAFE.

Recipients Lauren Hindmarsh (Winner Award and PCN Cash Prize and Membership) and Rebecca Crittendell (Encouragement Award and PCN Membership) received their respective awards at a recent PCN network breakfast, held at HMRI. Lauren is currently the Business Development Manager for Accor Hospitality and Rebecca is the Sales & Marketing Coordinator for Fourth Wave Wine.

Students were encouraged to submit an application outlining how they demonstrate a high standard of marketing and communication skills, through both their participation and contribution to their respective marketing programs and continuing professional development. Their submissions also included assessment samples and references to further support their application.

Judging was undertaken by a panel of specialists, which included Heidi Alexandra Pollard (Professional Communicators Network), Larissa Hartigan (Hunter TAFE) and Leanne Cherry (Hunter TAFE).  As with previous years, the submissions were of a high standard.

Since its inception in May 2003, the Professional Communicators Network has been bringing together like minded communication professionals from across Newcastle, the Hunter and Central Coast to share knowledge and information.

Services of the PCN include free bimonthly meetings, emailed industry updates, an online networking forum, annual training day, articles of interest and position vacancies.
