Collaboration to take businesswomen to India

Two Newcastle businesses have joined forces to offer a unique travel and personal development program for local women in India.

Local leadership and personal development coach and CEO of Passionate People Institute, Shivani Gupta, has teamed up with Michelle Faithfull from Jayes Travel to offer an 11 day women only tour of self discovery.

Indian born Shivani said the idea came to her as she made a pilgrimage back to India in 2012 to celebrate her 40th birthday and to finish writing her book Tough Love for Leaders. She has had local businesswomen ask her if she would do such a tour.

Shivani will lead the group as they visit the capital, Delhi, the home of the Taj Mahal, Agra, and stay for several days in an Ashram.

She said the trip will combine mentoring sessions with meditation, yoga, shopping and unravelling the secrets of Indian cooking.

Shivani has been running personal development programs for women and researching issues such as self esteem for more than ten years. in 2013 she released a new book for women titled I Love Myself.

“In my book, I encourage women to learn to love themselves and put themselves first, something many women are not good at doing,” Shivani said.

“Loving yourself helps you to lead the life you want to lead and it also helps to make you a better leader, business person, partner, mother, grandmother or employee.”

“Women also need to look after their mind, body and spirit and this trip teaches them to do that.”

“It will be a kind of Eat, Pray, Love India, giving women practical tips to improve their lives and it will be exciting, different and fun.”

“The tour is designed for women with similar values who want to explore India and the next step in their careers or lives in complete comfort and safety.”

The women who take the tour will also be giving back to another young woman. Part of the cost of the tour includes contributing to a young Indian girl’s education for a year.

Michelle Faithfull is a well known supporter of business women’s networking and development. She is the organiser of the annual Divas on the Green women’s golf and networking day.

The tour departs 6 November 2014 and a free information night is being held on June 19 at Passionate People Institute’s offices at 342 Hunter Street, Newcastle.
