Cessnock City Council secures new Director of Works and Infrastructure

Cessnock City Council has recently announced the appointment of David Moloney to the team as Director of Works and Infrastructure, a position he will start in the new year.

The Council’s General Manager, Lotta Jackson is looking forward to David Moloney’s commencement in the position, where he will bring his wealth of experience in a range of leadership roles.

“David is currently the Director of Infrastructure at Southern Grampians Shire Council in Victoria and has 20 years of proven leadership success in the infrastructure industry,” Lotta said.

“It’s a challenging role, with this not only being the largest Directorate at Council, but it is also responsible for some of our most critical assets, from roads, bridges, parks and playgrounds.”

Lotta thanked the Acting Director, Katrina Kerr for her dedication to the role which she will pass onto David.

“Katrina has worked tirelessly in the position and we recognise her expertise and efforts. Well done Katrina,” she said.

He has extensive technical knowledge and experience in road construction and maintenance, project and contract management, and strategic planning.

David said he is looking forward to joining the Council next year.

“Council has an important role in delivering critical services that shapes the community we live and work in,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know the community and understand the role that I can play in making Cessnock an even better place to live and work.”
