Butlers Business Lawyers announce staff admission to the NSW Supreme Court

Butlers Business Lawyers is proudly celebrating the admission of their very own staff member, Emma Shannon, to the Supreme Court of NSW.

This industry milestone, which was achieved in February, allows Emma to practice as a Lawyer after many years of rigorous work and study.

Emma said it’s exciting to finally reach this point and that the future of the industry thrills and motivates her.

“I chose a career in law because I enjoy problem solving. I like the dynamic nature of the work,” Emma said.

“No day is the same and every matter has its own complexities, which means I am constantly learning new skills.”

As a lifelong and devoted member of the Hunter community, Emma is passionate about seeking results for local clients.

“I believe it’s important to help local businesses and to assist clients in finding the best solutions to fit their business needs,” she said.

“I enjoy the opportunity to work closely with clients and watch as they grow their business.”

Emma has been Clerking at Butlers Business Lawyers since 2019, and will now be staying on as a Solicitor.

Butlers Business Lawyers Principal, Kym Butler, said Emma brings many strong values and skills to the table and is excited to see her flourish and grow further.

When asked why Emma was first attracted to Butlers Business Lawyers, she expressed her excitement about being at the forefront of something unique and special in the industry.

“With this opportunity, I’m excited to work across many different practice areas and to offer advice to such a vast range of commercial organisations and individuals operating across many different industries,” Emma said.

Her combined degree in Business and Law from the University of Newcastle has proven very

valuable to the team at Butlers Business Lawyers. Emma is a natural fit with the firm’s Commercial and Business Solicitors, as she maintains demonstrated skill and interest in the areas of employment law, tax law, and business contracts and agreements.

Emma views herself as a dedicated Lawyer. She is most satisfied with her work when she assists clients achieve their business goals.

“The most rewarding part of my job is when we can achieve a successful outcome for clients. It is great to receive positive feedback from clients and have them express their gratitude for our assistance throughout a matter,” Emma concluded.

When asked what it’s like working with Emma, her colleagues describe her as a constant source of positivity, with the readiness to lend a helping hand.

Emma has many strong connections in the Hunter Region, and in her spare time enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
