BISCIT – HunterNet member profile

Our HunterNet member in focus this month is BISCIT. Established in 2002, BISCIT is a certified partner of Epicor ERP Software with extensive experience in delivering Epicor ERP projects throughout Australia and internationally.

BISCIT’s Managing Director, Greg Hyslop said BISCIT’s one step ahead approach to Epicor ERP implementation engages clients on a partnership basis, working together to deliver goals, ensuring sound return on investment and timely delivery.

“Currently supporting a range of clients from small three user sites to large, international corporate groups, BISCIT is well placed to deliver modern, flexible and agile feature-rich ERP systems for Australian and international businesses with the backing of the award-winning, global software organisation Epicor,” Greg said.

Epicor ERP is able to be adapted from small financial applications, right through to a completely customised business management system.

“We service a wide and diverse customer base, including manufacturing, distribution, primary industries, rental, service industries and other key industries groups,” Greg said.

Greg said innovation is key to the way BISCIT does business.

“We have been developing a mobile handheld scanning solution using the latest tools and techniques to facilitate efficiencies and innovation in warehousing and logistics,” Greg said.

“A Rental Management System is also under development utilising the latest tools and innovations which integrates to Epicor ERP.”

In recognition of its work, BISCIT received international recognition at the Epicor International Partner Awards in the form of the Technology and Innovation accolade.

“BISCIT is also working closely with Varley Group and received the Business Transformation Award at the same ceremony for our work together on an e-commerce platform,” Greg said.

Varley Group was seeking a simple and modern e-commerce solution to differentiate it’s electric vehicles in the marketplace. The solution was provided by BISCIT and Epicor in the form of an integrated solution with Magento, an e-commerce platform.

“Epicor’s technical architecture and capability allows us to build mobility apps, such as the mobile scanning application for warehousing and logistics, as well as other applications like the equipment hire and rental products. Epicor enables us to shape technology around the core business requirements and deliver real value to our customers,” Greg said.

“We are also working with a number of other businesses in the Hunter including Hi-Vis Group, Jurox and Calvary Care in developing customised systems which meet their operational requirements.”

As with all industries, Greg said BISCIT’s industry is not without challenges.

“One area we are monitoring closely is the introduction of Industry 4.0 which is the name for the current trend of automation of procedure and data exchange in industry. The challenge we face is that companies consider themselves ready for the future; however to remain competitive, thousands of manufacturers need state-of-the-art information and communication technology to improve productivity, but these businesses are hesitant to make the commitments,” Greg said.
