As a result of the rapid growth of Nexus Law Group, Belinda Crosbie has been appointed as Partner of Nexus Lawyers’ Newcastle office, the national hub of the award winning dispersed law firm.
As Australia’s first embedded contractor law firm, Nexus employs a non-traditional structure, with Consulting Principals operating nationally as part of the firm. Belinda has been tasked with growing the Hunter practice, supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and supporting the Consulting Principals.
Founder, Marcus McCarthy, said that Belinda was well placed for handling the challenges of a ‘NewLaw’ practice given her extensive litigation and construction experience, the firms core specialties.

Belinda said she was thrilled to be helping to shape the innovative law firm and was excited about the prospect of increasing the profile of Nexus in the Hunter and beyond.

Belinda formerly worked in senior roles at two large national practices before joining Nexus. She practices primarily in advisory and contentious construction and commercial law. She has significant dispute resolution experience including litigation, arbitration, mediation and all aspects of Security of Payment disputes. Belinda’s clients are primarily involved in commercial and residential infrastructure projects. In addition to resolving disputes, she regularly advises clients in the drafting, negotiation and pricing of infrastructure contracts and general commercial agreements.
