Ambassadors provide the stamp of quality

Three of the Hunter’s most prominent business people have been hand selected by TAFE NSW as Ambassadors for a new national campaign highlighting the quality education delivered by TAFE Institutes across the state.

‘Made by TAFE NSW’ celebrates success stories from across TAFE NSW and recognises the positive contribution that it makes to communities across the State. A TAFE NSW qualification is a stamp of quality, sought after and valued by employers nationally.

Three Hunter TAFE Alumni have been selected for the state-wide campaign and are all leaders in their respective fields. The Hunter Ambassadors are Kyle Loades, President of The National Roads and Motorists’ Association and Managing Director of Auto Advantage, Lisa McGuigan, Founder of Lisa McGuigan Wines and Dean Gibson, Internationally renowned Chocolatier and Hunter TAFE Teacher.

Kyle Loades was in Sydney earlier this week to launch the ‘Made by TAFE’ campaign and attributes much of his success to the education he received during his Marketing education at Hunter TAFE.

“TAFE has provided me with an edge. When I began my career in sales and marketing back in the 1980s the practical skills and knowledge I received ensured that I was work-ready,” Kyle said.

“But it’s the diverse nature of Hunter TAFE that sets it apart. As a kid from the Hunter region I know only too well about how communities use education and vocational training to create opportunity. Hunter TAFE was a critical part of the region’s transformation post the BHP closure.”

Hunter TAFE Institute Director, Christine Warrington said the selection of Kyle Loades, Lisa McGuigan and Dean Gibson highlights the important place vocational education and training has in the region.

“To have three of our Hunter TAFE Alumni selected to represent the quality education and training delivered by TAFE NSW is a true representation of the talent the Hunter produces each year,” Christine said.

“Through our 120 year history Hunter TAFE has worked alongside industry and businesses to ensure that we deliver relevant, world-class education and training to meet the skills needs of the Hunter and Central Coast regions,” she concluded.
