Acrobat Removals and Storage teams up with Variety Spin 4 Kids Newcastle

Acrobat Removals and Storage is swapping furniture delivery for spin bike delivery this week in support of Variety’s annual Spin 4 Kids event.

Getting underway from 10am on Friday 23 April at The Station and virtually from locations across Newcastle, this fun annual event challenges teams to ride as many kilometres as possible in five hours to raise funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity.

Acrobat Removals and Storage has donated its services for the past six years, transporting spin bikes on loan from The Forum to participating teams to help make the fundraising event possible.

Operations Manager, Jord Petersen said it’s a great event to be involved in and is something the team as a whole look forward to every year.

“Spin 4 Kids is such a fun event and the teams participating really get into the spirit of the day with crazy costumes and lots of friendly rivalry – which we love to see,” Jord said.

“It’s a real pleasure for Acrobat Removals and Storage to be able to help out by doing what we do best – which is moving the goods that are essential to making this great event happen!”

For 45 years, Variety – the Children’s Charity has been helping to give kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs a fair go in life. Their vision is for all Australian children to reach their full potential, regardless of ability or background.

Last year Variety impacted the lives of 28,500 kids across NSW and the ACT spending $2.694 million on its grants, scholarships, and programs.

Event Organiser, Brooke Bell believes Acrobat Removals and Storage’s involvement over the years has been instrumental to the smooth running of the event.

“Acrobat Removals have been amazing supporters in delivering bikes to and from The Forum venues. With a shift to a virtual event, we rely even more so on Acrobat Removals, as they deliver bikes to different Corporate teams around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie,” Brooke said.

“Having Acrobat Removals involved, gives both Variety and The Forum the peace of mind that the bikes will be picked up and delivered in a safe way.”

The Variety Spin 4 Kids event is a five-hour Team Spin Bike challenge, with teams either participating in the outdoor version based at The Station or virtually from their own location of choice. The Forum instructors and host Mike Wilkins will keep the day full of energy with awesome music, and motivation to keep those legs moving.

Throughout the event, a record of each teams kilometres is taken, and a Kings or Queens of Spin will be announced. Teams are also encouraged to fundraise before and during the event, with awards given to the highest team and individual fundraisers.

Events like this are crucial for hitting annual fundraising targets, especially after a tough year for charities.

“In 2019, we raised $40,000 and the goal this year is to come close to that again – despite the impact of Covid-19,” Brooke continued.

“With the help of our Sponsors like Acrobat, The Forum and presenting partner NCIG we can ensure costs are kept to an absolute minimum, so entrants know that funds raised go direct to kids Variety support.”
