Having been at the forefront of Australian furniture design, innovation, and comfort since 1977, King Living has chosen Newcastle’s CBD as the site of its newest showroom.
Planning for the Newcastle showroom began last year, and despite pandemic challenges, the company decided to push ahead with the opening as a result of the region’s growing need to access quality Australian designed furniture.
The 1,100 square metre showroom, located in Newcastle West, will be King Living’s 17th showroom in Australia, adding to the brand’s expanding footprint, which includes New Zealand, Asia and North America.
King Chief Executive Officer, Anna Carrabs said the expansion into Newcastle was logical.
“We have been looking for a home for King in Newcastle for some time. The region has continued to grow and diversify and as a result, customers were increasingly looking for alternatives in the market,” Anna said.
“The King brand is very much focused on simplicity, authenticity and casual luxury and we believe that people in and around the Hunter region will appreciate the convenience and accessibility of a local showroom.”
The Newcastle showroom will offer King’s iconic range of modular sofas, armchairs and recliners, bedroom, dining and home office furniture.
“King Living designs and manufactures furniture that stands the test of time and adapts to the changes in our lives, seamlessly balancing function with style. King has always been focused on innovation and pushing the boundaries of furniture design, to deliver lasting personal comfort and support,” she said.
“We are also very excited to be including King’s new outdoor collection which has been developed on the belief that there’s no reason why great design should stop in the living room.
The collection will pay homage to some of King’s most iconic designs and marries timeless design with innovative technicality, including advanced weather resistant qualities designed to endure harsh weather environments.
“The King brand and the Newcastle team are very much looking forward to being part of the Newcastle community and also serving Port Stephens, the Mid North Coast, Central Coast and Hunter region,” Anna said.
King will officially open the doors of its new Newcastle showroom on Thursday 24 September, celebrating with Grand Opening Offers, including up to 50 per cent off furniture.
The showroom will be open for walk-ins and pre-arranged appointments from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm weekdays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Sundays.
