Newcastle Permanent’s Charitable Foundation Board welcomes Jane Gray

Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation has announced the appointment of experienced health service executive, Jane Gray as a non-executive Director to its Board.

Charitable Foundation Chair, Phil Neat said Jane’s appointment brings great experience and understanding of the health, education and research sectors.

She currently holds positions as a non-executive director on other Boards, including Committee for the Hunter, Hunter Postgraduate Medical Institute and Rigpa Fellowship.

Phil said that Jane’s appointment will further enhance the Boards current goals and passion for community and charity endeavours.

“Jane’s appointment further enhances the Charitable Foundation Board’s solid governance model and passion for community and the charity sector, which is shared by all our Directors,” he said.

“Her knowledge and skills fit well with our mission and grant-giving model to bring benefit to our disadvantaged and marginalised community members.”

Jane is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts (Communication).

She also has extensive experience in organisational culture, innovation and research, customer relationship management and building partnerships to deliver results.

Jane said she was looking forward to applying her skills and experience to a most reputable organisation which has for over 15 years delivered significant community benefit totalling more than $19 million.

“The Charitable Foundation is a well-recognised and genuinely committed institution in Newcastle and regional NSW,” she said.

“It continues to deliver projects and initiatives that have strongly impacted and changed for good the lives of so many people, who face challenge. I feel privileged to be invited onto the Board.”

Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation is currently governed by its own Board of Directors, comprising of Newcastle Permanent and Community Directors.

Jane joins other Charitable Foundation Directors: Phil Neat (Chair), Jennifer Leslie, Mike Rabbitt, Kurt Fearnley and Chad Watson.

Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation

The Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation distributes around $1.5 million in grants each year to facilitate charitable projects to address disadvantage in local communities throughout the Hunter, Central West, Central Coast, New England, Mid North Coast, and Northern Rivers regions of NSW. Since its establishment in 2003, the Foundation has provided more than $25 million to more than 540 community initiatives.
