New CEO for Newcastle Jockey Club

Newcastle Jockey Club (NJC) has announced the appointment of Matt Benson to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Matt has extensive experience in the racing and sporting industries and his background includes a role as CEO of the South Australian Jockey Club and Sturt Football Club and more recently he has worked with McEvoy Mitchell Racing as Manager of Business Development.

NJC Chairman Geoff Barnett says he has had the full support of the Board in this appointment.

“The Board has actively been involved in the search and interview process and we are certain we have selected the right person for this position,” Geoff said. “We look forward to exciting times

Newcastle Jockey Club

Located in the heart of Newcastle on the picturesque Hunter Coast only two hours drive north of Sydney is Broadmeadow Racecourse. In operation for over 100 years, the Broadmeadow Racecourse is the largest provincial club in NSW.

We now have more than a dozen different function rooms to cater for your every need.
