Local young leaders unveil 2019 hyp Board

Both familiar and new faces have stepped up to take a seat at the table of the Hunter Young Professionals (hyp) Board in 2019.

Elected at the AGM at Queen’s Wharf Hotel earlier this year, a diverse range of leaders will take the reigns this year, including professionals from the legal, finance, communications and engineering sectors.

New faces on the board include Danielle O’Neill from NAB, Jordan Hoey  fromNorthrop, Kate-Eliza David from Osborn Law, Tamara Parker from DWF, Ron Tong from Hamilton Veterinary Clinic and Ziah Elliott from University of Newcastle.

Returning for a second term is Louise Mackay who is a communications professional, and Sam Slack-Smith from Jenkins Legal Services.

Lauren Armstrong from Belmont 16s will remain President, with Madeleine Tiedeman from Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors (Vice President) and Chanel Egan from Forsythes Technology (Secretary) continuing by her side. Jessica Cole from Prosperity Advisers Group has progressed through the board to the role of Treasurer.

The hyp members and guests will have the opportunity to meet and get to know their new board at the offical hyp Launch at The Great Northern Hotel on Thursday 14 March. The hyp Launch will be an opportunity for hyp to make a start on their 2019 journey with experiences tailored to giving the young leaders of the Hunter the tools to assist them to evolve as a professional.

Adding to the value they provide to members, hyp recently launched access to Business Passes to allow local organisations/companies to send staff to multiple networking and mentoring events in 2019. The Business Pass provides local organisations flexibility by having one or two passes (or more) which can be shared between colleagues.

Membership to hyp is free and open to those aged between 18 and 40. hyp provides opportunities for young people to network in a business environment, gain new management and leadership skills, interact socially together and support the local community so that they can develop as the business leaders of tomorrow.

hyp is sponsored by City of Newcastle, PKF, University of Newcastle, Sparke Helmore, Jirsch Sutherland and Hunter Travel Group.
