Leadership growth for Osborn Law team

Local legal service provider, Osborn Law, has promoted Alison Garland to the position of Senior Associate.

She joins Solicitor Directors Tim Osborn, Christie Howson and Marissa Dimarco and Senior Associate, Laura Bennett in their leadership team.

Alison has over seventeen years’ experience in the legal profession and has been an integral part of Osborn Law for nearly nine years, having joined the team not long after their doors opened in late 2010.

While the Osborn Law family grew over the years, so did Alison’s with her and husband Dean, welcoming two beautiful children during her time with the firm.

Alison has played an instrumental part in helping shape the firm’s flexible work and return to work programs.

She has always had a keen interest in property law and has a expertise in;

  • Large residential Torrens title subdivisions for sale and sale/leaseback transactions;
  • Residential and commercial strata title subdivisions for sale;
  • Advising and negotiating off the plan contracts for residential and strata developments;
  • Providing advice to developers regarding proposed Torrens title, Strata title and Community title subdivision of land in consultation with surveyors and planners;
  • Advising and negotiation of rural contracts for large commercial clients involving, mining licences, forestry agreements and access agreements;
  • Advising and negotiating Deeds relating to resumption of property by government authorities;
  • Residential and commercial conveyancing;
  • and retail, commercial and residential leasing.

Managing Director, Tim Osborn said that one of Alison’s strengths is her ability to deliver for clients.

“Alison works hard for the best outcomes for her clients with an emphasis on being accessible and delivering practical, sound and prompt solutions,” Tim said.

“She prides herself on getting to know her client’s needs and ensuring that she goes the extra mile to achieve the desired outcome.”

Seeing Alison achieve this career goal was something the team were very excited to celebrate said Tim.

“Of course, her appointment recognises not only her skill, experience and existing role in the firm as a respected leader, in particular within the property team, but more than that it recognises her loyalty and dedication to our firm and our clients,” he said.

“The whole team is wrapped at the announcement and look forward to watching Alison take hold of the role with both hands.”

Alison becomes Osborn Law’s second Senior Associate following Laura Bennett’s appointment earlier this year.

Alison said that her latest appointment has been very exciting, and that she feels very lucky to be part of the Osborn Law team.

“I am thrilled to be joining Laura in the Senior Associate role,” Alison said.

“We have both really been on the journey together from the early days of Osborn Law as junior solicitors to now being part of the leadership team. Those early days really set the foundation for what the firm is today, and I feel so lucky to have been part of so much of the Osborn Law history.

“I always knew this is where I wanted to be long term. I am really looking forward to the future and continuing to work with Tim, Christie and Marissa whom I admire so very much and who have supported me both professionally and personally over the years. I am really excited to see where we as a team go from here,” Alison said.
