In the four months since joining the Laing+Simmons family, the Newcastle Central office has secured work on three new development projects, increased its listings dramatically and has doubled its sales team.
And further recruitment – particularly in sales – is on the agenda, according to Laing+Simmons Newcastle Central Director, Michael Barber.
“The new year has started positively for local real estate and buyer activity is strong. As such, prices are buoyant and while we’re not predicting a return to boom-time price rises in the short term, the scene is set for sustainable growth in 2020,” Michael said.
“Homes that are properly priced are not remaining on the market for long. Encouragingly, enquiry levels from both owner-occupiers and investors are strong.”
With the steady increase in popularity for local real estate, Michael said the need to expand their team is more important than ever.
“We’re looking to speak to sales agents to facilitate the growth we’re experiencing internally and to ensure we’re well-positioned for a busy year ahead in local property,” he said.
“We have opportunities for seasoned agents looking for a new challenge and the ability to leverage a high-profile brand new to the Newcastle market, as well as young agents looking to establish their career.”
Michael said the resources available to agents in the Laing+Simmons family is having a significant impact on the company’s recruitment efforts.
“With the strength and scope of the frameworks now available to us as part of Laing+Simmons, the conversation we’re able to have with agents looking to join our team takes on a new dimension,” he said.
In order to continue to meet the needs of the Newcastle market, Michael has ensured that recruitment for Laing+Simmons is a top priority.
“We knew we needed to grow our team to achieve our business growth ambitions and the recruitment advantages we’ve leveraged with Laing+Simmons has expedited this growth. We’re having better conversations with better agents more regularly.”
