The Hunter Mining Show’s unique approach of a high level of engagement with the regional community has resonated with industry suppliers, resulting in strong levels of support for the event from regional, national and international suppliers.
The Show, which will be held from March 12-14 in Singleton Council’s Civic Centre incorporates a Community Day and Street Parade aimed at engaging the community across all sectors.
It is being held in conjunction with the inaugural Hunter Coal Festival, which is being run across the entire Hunter region from 12 to 29 March 2015.
Peter Eason, chairman of the Hunter Coal Festival, said the Hunter Mining Show was being seen as a unique opportunity for equipment suppliers, service providers and miners to meet, network and do business – and interact with the broader community.
“Already the initial space for the show is sold out, and we are now looking at extending into new undercover display areas to cope with the demand from companies looking to exhibit,” Peter said.
“We are delighted to have very strong representation from local businesses, such as Geared Engineering, Coal Services/Mines Rescue and Kings Engineering.”
“We’ve got HunterNet, who will include a significant number of smaller suppliers under its banner, Blackwoods, who will have up to 20 smaller suppliers taking an entire pavilion, along with national and multinational suppliers such as Viva Energy, Sandvik Mining, Bridgestone, Pirtek and a number of Chinese manufacturers looking to enter the Australian market.”
Peter said the Show’s community engagement theme had helped attract the attention of industry suppliers.
“This approach has really resonated with suppliers of products and services, many of whom are keen to reinvest in the community through what is a very regionally focussed event,” he continued.
“We are also working closely with community groups to involve them in key elements of the show, such as catering, customer service, registration and other important tasks ‚Äì and ensuring that they get something back from this event.”
