Former Property Council Chair moves business into Newcastle CBD

Former Property Council Chairman and light rail advocate, Edward Crawford has moved his property marketing and advisory firm, TriState Land Sales Advisory into Hunter Street.

The region has seen significant movement for businesses since work commenced on the light rail.

Edward said the transformation of the city is the reason for the move.

“The transformation of the inner city has put Newcastle on the map,” Edward said.

“The Hunter Region is becoming increasingly important in both the NSW economy and the national economy. People from out of area are moving to the Hunter for employment, education, lifestyle and housing affordability – a whole range of reasons. They are really giving Newcastle and the Hunter a vote of confidence. We are doing the same.”

TriState Co-owner and Director, Sam Budden said the inner-city location was an easy choice.

“We could have moved anywhere. We do business across the Hunter and NSW, but we also have private and institutional clients in Sydney, Canberra, Queensland. Newcastle is easy to get to. Clients want to come here and we genuinely feel proud to say we are in Hunter Street, Newcastle,” Sam said.

“You have to remember, it was only a few years ago that businesses really didn’t see Hunter Street as an option. Now businesses are actively wanting to move into the city. It’s exciting.”
