Chairman announces new Regional Development Australia Hunter Board

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter has announced the appointment of the organisation’s new Board of Directors for the period of 1 July 2018 to 31 December 2020.

Appointed by Chairman of RDA Hunter, John Turner, and endorsed by Federal Minister for Regional Development, Dr John McVeigh MP, the new Board encompasses prominent local professionals from the Hunter community.

John appointed Acting Deputy Chair of RDA Hunter, Susan Ivens as Deputy Chair; Director of Kumalie Group, Kelsey Barrett; Principal of Tocal Agricultural College, Darren Bayley; Non-executive Director and not-for-profit health care governance specialist, Jennifer Hayes; Non-executive Director and professional in local government, airport and tourism management, Paul Hughes; retired CEO of multinational manufacturing and electricity companies, Geoff Lilliss; CEO of Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator, Kirsten Molloy and Consulting Engineer, Chair Infrastructure Committee and Councillor NSW Business Chamber, Ian Pedersen.

John said he thanked all applicants for their interest in contributing to a stronger Hunter region through RDA Hunter.

“I am very pleased to announce the appointment of the organisation’s new nine-strong Board which combines the knowledge of returning directors with the expertise of three new members,” John said.

“The directors bring a diverse mix of qualifications and experience to RDA Hunter and will make a valuable contribution to the region’s future. Together with Susan and the Board, I look forward to leading RDA Hunter into a new phase and exploring new opportunities to create a strong local economy and a skilled workforce for the future.”

RDA Hunter is the leading economic development organisation in the Hunter region. It actively works in partnerships with the three levels of government, industry, other RDAs and local communities to create jobs, attract investment, and promote economic growth in the Hunter. By engaging with entrepreneurs and emerging business leaders, RDA Hunter is exploring new opportunities to create a strong local economy and communicate the Hunter’s priorities to Government.
