The latest building project in Newcastle’s booming west end is the brainchild of a local husband and wife team.

Parry Grande was released in August by Whitehead Building Group in collaboration with First National Newcastle, award winning architects EJE and excavation specialist Stuart McDougall.

The apartments are on the market under the guidance of well-respected real estate agents George Rafty and Luke Murdoch and feature 31 apartments to be situated in the bustling entertainment and sports precinct in Parry Street.

First National Newcastle Principal Agent George Rafty said that Chris and Tracey Whitehead worked with local businesses to design apartments for people who were looking to take advantage of inner city living without compromising on style.

George said that recent public conversations held by the Property Council and local architectural firms reinforced that the west end was becoming the hot spot for real estate with buyers and investors looking for different and affordable options for inner city living.

“Opposite the parkland setting of No.1 Sports Ground, Parry Grande will be eight floors in height and feature retail space at ground level that will complement the offerings in the precinct including The Edwards, Parry Street Garage and Marketown shopping,” George said.

This is one of many of projects by Whitehead Property Group over the past 25 years. The Group has more recently successfully developed sites at Memorial Drive Bar Beach, Denison Street Hamilton and Maitland Road in Mayfield. Parry Grande is currently awaiting approval by Newcastle City Council and will soon after appoint a builder.

Chris Whitehead said that it was important for developers to create better places for people that also offered something more to the fabric and landscape of the city.
